Federal prosecutor file charges against 21 suspects of terrorism

Ethiopian federal prosecutor has charged 21 people with trying to commit terrorist acts and becoming members of the outlawed the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), reports said on Thursday.The suspects, aged from 18-49 years, are residents of Addis Ababa City and Oromia Regional State.
According to a charge document filed by the federal prosecutor, the defendants frightened the people to put the government under pressure as well as to attain their target of breaking up the unity of the people and splitting Oromia state from the federation.
They were also charged with becoming members of the banned OLF, a group that has been trying to destroy the Constitutional order, economic and political institutions in the country.
Moreover, they were accused of providing logistics, recruiting and arming other members for a terrorist organization existed in Ada Berga Woreda, West Shoa Zone.
They were also charged with receiving money from foreign terrorist organization to purchase weapons as well as getting training from heads of terrorist organization in Kenya.
The 19th criminal bench of the Federal High Court adjourned the case to November 17, 2015 for hearing
