MoFA to repatriate 200 Ethiopian refugees

(EBC; July 16, 2016) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said it is exerting efforts to return 200 Ethiopian refugees from different countries of Africa.
Spokesperson of the Ministry, Tweolde Mulugeta, said in a press briefing on Friday that activities are underway to return 200 Ethiopian refugees from Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
17 Ethiopian refugees have come back to their homeland last week, Twewolde said, and called on the public to leave the country only in legal ways.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia is playing a role in stabilizing South Sudan as it is chair of IGAD, Tewolde added.
Members of IGAD have discussed current issues of South Sudan in Nairobi, Kenya to assure better peace and stability in the country.
The Spokesperson's weekly briefing also covered diplomatic outcomes of Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Ethiopia and the upcoming Ethiopian Diaspora Day.
