Ethiopia to establish national disaster risk management commission

Ethiopia’ Council of Ministers, in its 2nd emergency meeting on Thursday approved the draft bill for the establishment of National Disaster Risk Management Commission.The Council also endorsed the draft bill proposed for the establishment of five corporations and an authority.

Agricultural Works Corporation, Construction Works Corporation, Design and Audit Corporation, Mines, Petroleum and Biofuel Corporation and Trade Corporation are the five entities set to be established in the future.

After making amendments, the Council also approved the draft bill tabled for the establishment of Coffee and Tea Development and Trade Authority.
