Manni makes history in Ethiopian football
Ethiopia national league semifinals ended in style as history was made as the first ever Woman coach Meseret Manni led his team Dire Dawa Kenema to promotion to the Ethiopian Premier League beating Jimna Ababunna 2-0 in an exciting match.
It was an emotional moment for Meseret as she lined up his charges knowing very well the impact of the game as he sort to gain back promotion from the lucrative league.
Dire Dawa Kenema begun the game like a house on fire as Abdulfelah Kemal broke the deadlock in the 12th minute to give his side the deserved lead.
The game went to the break Dire Dawa still in the lead and the half time pep talk by heroine Meseret beared fruits as Belay Ababneh extended the lead with a beautiful goal I'm the 64th minute ensuring they got the much fought for promotion.
In the other playoff match Hossana City also gained promotion after a virtuoso 3-0 drubbing of Halaba Kenema in a one sided game.
Both Dire Dawa Kenema and Hossana City will play in the 2015/2016 Ethiopian Premier League season.
