Foreign Minister Dr.Tedros met with the delegation from Ethiopian Diaspora (FAMU Industrial) and Germany investors (CPB group and Agupi Group), who are starting expansion investment in Ethiopia, at his offices yesterday (August 18, 2015).
During the meeting, the two sides discussed investment projects, cooperation for new expansion investments and further business and investment opportunities available in the country for foreign direct investors and for Ethiopian Diaspora. Expressing that there is a convenient investment atmosphere in Ethiopia, Ato Daniel Wondowossen, from FAMU Industrial, stated "We are operating very well and we would like to expand our investments in Ethiopia".
Taking note of their assessment of Ethiopia's investment potentials and their subsequent decision to invest in the country, Mr. Frtiz, (Board Chairman, CPB group and Agupi Group), in his part noted, "our development company will start investment in hotel industry and other investment projects in Ethiopia as soon as the arrangements are finished," adding that the company has just started the construction of a five-star international hotel.
Mr. Frtiz further said his company will also be investing in a range of sectors, including the manufacturing and Energy sectors. The delegates also mentioned that in addition to the newly planned hotel, they are generally going to build three international five-star hotels in Addis Ababa.
Welcoming the visitors and praising them for choosing Ethiopia as their investment destination, Dr. Tedros on his part mentioned that the sectors they preferred to invest in are priorities in the country's development trajectory and will thus be encouraged. Dr. Tedros noted that the government will be at their support since its working to boost the Hospitality sector.
Dr. Tedros further noted the energy sector is also a priority in the country as well as in the regional integration agenda.
