WorldStage Newsonline-- Dangote Cement Plc in a statement submitted to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today announced plans for a total capacity expansion across Africa worth approximately US$4.34 billion.
Dangote Cement Plc one of the top three pioneers to trade on the new premium board of NSE launched on Tuesday has a N2.7 trillion market capitalization.
The statement noted that Dangote Cement Plc through its subsidiaries will sign several contracts with Chinese construction company, Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd for construction of cement facilities in 13 African countries with a total capacity of 25.00 Metric Tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The statement gave a breakdown of the expected capacity as; Nigeria (Itori) -1 and 2 plant to produce a total of 6.00 Metric Tonnes per Annum (3.00 each), while Nepal would produce 3.00 Metric Tonnes per Annum.
Ethiopia to generate 2.50 Metric Tonnes per Annum, while Kenya (1 and 2) would produce 1.50 Metric Tonnes per Annum each.
Zambia, Senegal, Niger, Mali Cameroon, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana would also yield 1.50 Metric Tonnes per Annum each.
