Addis Ababa, July 20, 2016 (WIC) –Special Force of the Ethiopian Somali Regional State has killed four and arrested three members of the so called the Ogaden Liberation Front, a group designated as a terrorist organization.
Engineer Idris Ismael Abdi, head of the regional state’s government communication bureau, said members of the group were killed and detained last Monday while trying to cross into Ethiopia via Ferfer woreda (district) of the regional state.
According to him, they were trained and deployed by the Shaebian government. The leader of the group is among those who were shot dead and detained by the Special Force, he indicated.
Among the three detainees included logistics head of the terrorist group, Ahmed Ismael, nicknamed Ahmed Deri, he said.
Members of the group were given a terrorist mission by the Eritrean government to destroy infrastructures and social-economic development facilities, in addition to spoiling peace in the south-eastern part of the country, Engineer Idris stated.
The Special Force also captured seven light and heavy guns from the group, he noted.
Following the efforts made in the past, durable peace has prevailed in all areas of the regional state, the head said. (FBC)
