This week’s person of the week is a couple who is definitely making a difference.
Mandy Vogler, a nurse with the health department, and Justin Vogler, a farm manager have gone out of their way to adopt four children from Ethiopia over the past six years.
With their total of ten children, they have been making a difference in their community by creating a farm and and having limited CSA shares, where people can fill up a box and in return receive produce.
They also have been running a youth group at their local church for twelve years, where children ages four through eight-teen meet twice a month for events such as cook-outs.
The two both said that they were humbled by the nomination.
For all their work helping all those around them, Mandy and Justin Vogler receive the title of this week’s Person of the Week.
If you know of someone who’s working hard in their own community — whether that’s by getting involved with a non-profit, creating something new in the area, or just affecting northern Michigan in their own special way — send an email to news@minews26.com.
Tell us who you’d like to nominate for the person of the week, why you think they should receive that title, and how we can reach them — Each week, we’ll broadcast one of these nominees as the “Person of the Week.”
