The Ethiopian ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs Samia Zekaria Gutu has expressed optimism that the trade and investment between Nigeria and Ethiopia would grow stronger by 2025 adding that Nigeria is a very resourceful country.
Gutu who stated this in Abuja yesterday at an event organized by Ethiopian Airline to celebrate its 70th anniversary noted that there is a need for the two countries to work together in terms of experience and technology sharing.
In line with spirit of the celebration, she noted that the airline would be giving out 50 free tickets to Nigerians in the next 70 days saying that 10 of those tickets were for the media, 10 for Abuja station, 10 for Enugu, 10 for Kano and 10 for Lagos.
According to her, “To qualify to be shortlisted for free tickets, you only need to like Ethiopian Airlines Nigeria page on Facebook, text your Facebook name and phone number to 08133235804 but the person must be resident in Nigeria to win a ticket.
She maintained that the airline though owned by the Ethiopian government has autonomy for its management and totally business oriented saying that it is why the airline is the largest and most profitable in Africa.
She further acknowledged the strategic partnership between the two countries in the past 55 years even as she commended Aliko Dangote for establishing a cement factory worth over $600million in Ethiopia.
“We want to engage more in trade between Nigeria because we have Ethiopian airlines connecting four Nigerian cities to the world like Lagos (1960), Abuja (2008), Enugu (2013) and Kano (2014) , so think it’s a good opportunity for business men to exploit this direct flight.” Read more here
