Pupils had been writing to students at Gende Tesfa School in Ethiopia after fundraising for the school.
Some very special letters from across the globe arrived at Holy Trinity Primary School in Cookham on Tuesday.
As well as exchanging letters, the Cookham pupils have been learning about Ethiopian culture and have exchanged videos.
The school decided to raise money for the charity Partners for Change, which helps vulnerable and orphaned children in Ethiopia after finding out about it from parent Sarah Parfitt.
It raised more than £5,000 for the charity and PFC director Pete Jones thanked pupils for their hard work and effort.
Pupils who wrote to Gende Tesfa School were able to read their replies in class and find out more about the school.
Ann Smith, headteacher at Holy Trinity School in School Lane, said: “We are delighted to have been part of the tremendous work that has gone on in Gende Tesfa.
“The children have found it fascinating learning about a different culture and the opportunity to share videos, songs and letters with children in the village has been really exciting.
“We know there is still lots of work to be done but we are enthusiastic about moving into the next stage of the project and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
“The visits we have received from Pete Jones of the charity and the stories he has told have truly inspired everyone to get behind the charity events we have run.
“Through our work with the PFC we have learnt a huge amount while having fun at the same time.”
Pete Jones, director of PFC Ethiopia, said: “This pairing has been really good for the school. If any other schools are interested in being paired with an Ethiopian school we would love to hear from them.”
