Everjobs has revealed that it has recently started its operations in Ethiopia. The company’s mission is to simplify the job search and hiring process by connecting professionals with employers in a matter of clicks, acting as a key driving force in redirecting Ethiopia’s best talent to international companies as well as small local enterprises (SME’s).
At a press conference in Addis Ababa to officially introduce the company to the public, Eric Lauer, Co-founder and Managing Director at Everjobs Africa, said, “Overall in Ethiopia we are seeing a growing number of opportunities in the areas of Engineering, Manufacturing, Services, NGOs and in the public sector. Even though agriculture remains the highest employer of labour in the country, we are seeing a growing number of opportunities in the services sector with the sector contributing about 40% to GDP”.
“Everjobs is here to help create the perfect match between professionals and employers,” said Eric Lauer. The site reduces delays in hiring, creates transparency and is available to anyone. Everjobs also ambitions to covers many cities in Ethiopia, as although the economy is very centralized, with most opportunities in Addis Ababa, there are some positions in Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Nazret, Debrezeit, Hawassa and Mekelle.
There are currently more than 300 career opportunities from about a hundred employers on the Everjobs platform. “When we spoke to Heads of HR they consistently told us the same thing – that the enormous numbers of paper-based CVs they receive everyday are becoming problematic” adds Eric Lauer. These Heads of HR also highlighted the risk of counterfeit CVs and the importance of having a service like Everjobs to check the authenticity of applicants.
