Mehret was born Dec. 10, 1991, in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. His parents, especially his mother, Lemlem Siltan, loved her son and raised him with all her effort and advice.
At the age of 9, Mehret moved with his father, mother and brother from Ethiopia to Dallas, Texas, and then to Columbia to be closer to his aunt and uncle, Tarik and Negash. He continued his formal education at Irmo Middle School and Irmo High School.
Mehret graduated high school in 2011 and extended his education by enrolling at Midlands Technical College. He then transferred to Greenville Technical College in order to achieve his dream of becoming an engineer for aircraft maintenance.
Mehret was best known throughout his family as a helpful, hospitable, responsible, smart, understanding, compassionate, family-loving young boy. His friends remember Mehret as a positive thinking person, good friend, and as a good soul.
Mehret left his mother and father who loved him more than one can explain. He left his brother, his sisters, his aunts and uncles with a huge emptiness and endless sadness.
Fond & loving memories will forever be cherished by his family & friends. Especially memories from the time he was born, as they watched him grow over the years, decide his goals & future hopes.
