The Seasiders aim to make history by reaching the group stage of the second tier continental club competition for the first time

Warri Wolves will face Ethiopia's Dedebit in the second round, second leg encounter of the Caf Confederation Cup in Addis Ababa on Sunday.

Coach Paul Aigbogun's men who hold a first leg 2-0 advantage against the 2014 Ethiopian Cup winners, will hope to snatch a victory or at least a draw from the encounter that will see them qualify for the group stages - a hurdle they have failed to overcome in four successive appearances.

After watching his side fail to progress in two straight years, Aigbogun said his side are in Ethiopia to win and are battle ready to face their opponents with optimism of a positive result.

“I am sure since they are playing at home they would want to come out, which we are expecting and we are ready for them. We have seen them play and we know what to expect from them and how to deal with them," Aigbogun told Goal.

“The Confederation cup is a tough competition that why the best top teams represent their country in the tournament. It’s a very good tournament and it will be very nice to progress to the next stage and I know by the special grace of God we will make the next phase.

“After this game which I know we will get a good result, we will take each game from there and make sure we concentrate fully and work hard to get to the final of this competition by Gods grace.
“As a coach the first thing that comes to mind in any encounter is a good result, that why I am in a positive mood that we will get a good result in Ethiopia. We have been working hard for this game and I believe my boys are in great mind set to carry out our game plan and make sure we get the desired result,” Aigbogun stated.

The former Enyimba gaffer, whose side finished third in the league last season, further said that they know the importance winning well at home, saying that they are confident their 2-0 first leg lead in Warri is a good result going into the this crucial second game.

“Getting a good result in the first leg was very important, we really worked hard to put the team in good shape for the test ahead and I know my players are ready to deliver.

“Every game is crucial in any tournament that is why we don’t want to take any chances. With our preparations for this game we are very sure we can get a positive result in Ethiopia and by the special grace of God we will come back in flying colours,” he concluded.
The encounter kicks off at 4pm at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.
