Jeddah, Apr. 23 (BNA): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the atrocious mass murdering of thirty Ethiopian nationals by the so-called affiliates of "Daesh" terrorist group in Libya. The Secretary General of the OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, expressed horror at this latest execution of innocent persons which adds to the long list of the brutalities committed by this group of criminals and outlaws. He noted that this crime has again highlighted the need to further step up international collaboration to combat and eradicate the menace and terror of "Daesh", according to OIC's official website today.
Madani added that the OIC is in the process of forming a group of wise persons to visit Libya to push forward for a social and political equilibrium to move Libya away from the institutional vacuum of the Gaddafi era, and the violent aftermath that followed his downfall to a state of national identity, shared values and transitional institutions.
The Secretary General renewed his call for addressing the root causes and environment that breeds extremism and give space for divisive foreign influence.
The Secretary General conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families of victims, the government and people of Ethiopia over the tragedy, assuring them that the OIC shares their grief, OIC reported.
