WYLIE (November 10, 2014) The body of a missing North Texas woman has been found in a pond by private investigators hired by an Ethiopian community group, police said.
A dive team found the remains of Almaz Gebremedhin, 42, Sunday night inside her van, which was submerged in an 8-foot deep private pond.
The Ethiopia native was reported missing on Oct. 2.
She lived about 3 miles from her workplace and the pond was along her commute.
The Mutual Assistance Association For Ethiopian Community raised the money to hire a private investigator after her disappearance.
Investigators told the Dallas Morning News that they traveled along her possible routes to work and used sonar devices on bodies of water.
The cause of her death hasn't been determined and it’s unclear how the van ended up submerged.
