Those who suffered in their way to Arab countries returned back home
Dire Dawa city’s labor and social affairs office announced that it sent more than a thousand Ethiopians who tried unsuccessfully to travel to Arab countries back home.
Since Dire Dawa is nearer to neighboring countries, recently it is experiencing a huge influx of citizens from other regions who hoped to pass through it to abroad.
As Ato Alemu Birhanu told ENA, this year alone more than a thousand Ethiopians who tried in vain to travel to various Arab countries are left stranded in Dire Dawa.
Therefore, to solve the problem of these citizens, the office has helped the citizens to return back to their home town giving advice and covering the transport cost.
As some of the returnees told ENA, they have experienced untold suffering in their attempt to travel abroad and regretted about the amount of money they spent in their voyage in vain which would otherwise been enough to change themselves if they engaged in some activities in their home towns.
