A seminar that was called by the Mahebere Kidusan on March 1,
2014 at the National Museum on the contents and preservation of the
ancient Ethiopian manuscripts is banned by a letter written from the
Ethiopian Orthodox church’s patriarch special office.
The letter said that the way the participants were invited to the seminar disregards the proper church’s hierarchy. The letter also orders Mahebere kidusan to ask the Patriarch’s special office for permission before calling any kind of gathering or seminars on the issues of the church.
It is remembered that another meeting that was called by Mahebere kidusan on February, 2014 was also cancelled by the Patriarch’s special office. The banned seminar is said to have first been allowed by an office in the church’s hierarchy that was having a close work relations with Mahebere kidusa.
