The House of Federation said that the Harari Regional State is undertaking construction of projects to host the 11th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Day.
Secretary of the Event Coordination Committee, Firewoine Gebere-egziabher, told WIC that the region is engaged with many development schemes to host the guests and celebrate the day colorfully.
She noted that a cultural center, stadium, hotels, guest houses and other social service centers are constructed. Construction of the cultural center and stadium is about to be accomplished before schedule period, she added. The cultural center is expected to accommodate over 2,300 people.
The construction well underway with the cooperation of the government and the public, she said.
Similarly, some hotels, guest houses and public service centers are also maintained.
It was noted that asphalted and cobblestoned roads that head to tourist destinations are also constructed. Over 4.5 kilometer of the road is asphalted.
Apart from the newly constructed stadium, Aw Abader, the Emam Ahmed Stadium is also being renewed.
Despite differences in culture, language and belief, the people have created values that enable them to live together peacefully, she added.
Walta has learnt that over 3,000 guests are expected to attend the 11th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day that is going to be held on December 8th, 2016 under the theme “Our constitution for democracy, Unity and Renaissance.” Read more here
