Ethiopian dam talks deadlocked in Khartoum

Egypt and Ethiopia have failed to achieve breakthrough on the deadlocked negotiations of the Ethiopian renaissance dam, reports said on Friday.Ethiopia and Egypt have concluded two days meeting in Khartoum this Friday without settling their disputes, a Sudanese diplomat told APA.
Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia have started new round of talks on the Ethiopian dam on Wednesday in Khartoum, amid deep disputes between Cairo and Addis Ababa.
The Ethiopian minister of water resources Alymayou Tegeno admitted that the last meeting between the three countries has failed to bridge the disputes.
Meanwhile the Egyptian minister of water resources and irrigation Hossam Mugazi disclosed that the three countries are on dispute over the impact of the dam on the downstream countries.
Talking at the opening session, the Egyptian minister Hussam Mugazi said that Egypt has submitted two new studies on the impact of the dam on Egypt and the probable diminish of water flow to the downstream of the Nile.
France and Netherland international firms were selected after long negotiations between the three countries to make the technical studies on the probable impact of the dam on Egypt and Sudan.
