Memorandum of Understanding that encourages Japanese companies to engage in building industrial parks in Ethiopia has been reached in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, reports said on Wednesday.The MoU was made after Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birhane Gebrekiristos held discussion with his Japanese counterpart today at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Hall.
The agreement would help Japanese companies to participate in investment in the industry sector in Ethiopia and will further boost the diplomatic ties of the two countries, Birhane said.
Japanese Foreign Affairs State Minister Mihora Kiuchi, who is attending the 3rd international conference on financing for development, said on his part Japan commends the strong leadership created at present in Ethiopia.
Japan would strive to bolster the relations and cooperation of the two countries to a higher level, he pointed out.
