Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Ethiopian Airlines have partnered with non-profit organizations, African Legal Library Project and Book world, to transport educational supplies to the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, on a 787 Dreamliner being delivered to the airline on May 21, 2015. This is the third of the surprisingly roomy new Boeing 787 Dreamliner Ethiopian has received. Beyond the impressive structural improvement with flatbed business class seats, the 13th B787 has the latest generation, Android-based AVANT In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system.
The educational supplies includes 40 boxes with 720 law/legal books for Debre Markos University, Law Department and 101 e-Readers/Kindles that include protective leather cases and adapters for charging. Each e-Reader is loaded with over 1,000 educational and entertainment books, in several languages, including the native language of Ethiopia which will be donated to Human Capital Foundation, a family project that unites orphaned and abandoned children and with marginalized women in Ethiopia to create forever families and bright futures by providing stable homes, excellent education and developmental resources.
