Abuja - Warri Wolves' Confederations Cup campaign has suffered a blow after the Ethiopian Embassy in Nigeria denied two influential players and a club spokesperson visas.
Media Manager of the team, Etu Moses, among those denied the document, said the affected players are goalkeeper Okiemute Odah and striker Onyekachi Okaforf.
They were denied on the premise that their passports' validity was not up to six months.
According to official of the club, this development is an attempt to thwart the effort of the Warri-based team from qualifying for the next round of the Confederation of African Football competition.
Meanwhile, a team of 17 players and officials has departed to Ethiopia to keep a date with Dedebit FC in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round on Sunday.
Moses added that goalkeeper Tega Iriose has been called up as a replacement for Odah, who was in goal in the first leg in Warri.
Besides the duo, Moses said the team will also miss the services of captain Azubuike Egwuekwe who is nursing a slight injury.
Warri Wolves won the first leg 2-0 in Warri some weeks back.
