Highway that will stretch from Ethiopia to Sudan is going to be built
in the aim of benefiting the people dwelling in the two countries using
transportation.
According to Federal transport Authority there are preparations taking place in order to link the two countries via the transport sector
.
High level meeting is going to be held here in Addis Ababa in quest of ways to provide the service and launch the project. In addition to this, the meeting will also focus on starting and destination points along the route of the highway.
According to Fana Broadcasting Corporate, Addis Ababa, Bahr Dar and Gondar have been identified as potential starting or destination points in Ethiopia.
The Authority hopes to begin the project this year.
The broadcasting corporate noted the project will boost the longstanding social, economic and cultural relationship between the two countries by enhancing transportation of people and goods.
Trade and investment between the two East African countries has been increasing lately. Currently there are 289 Sudanese companies that operate in Ethiopia with a total capital of 14 billion Birr.
