SMEs Created 1.8 Million Jobs

Federal Urban Job Creation and Food Security Agency disclosed in the concluding fiscal year 1.8 million jobs were created by micro and small enterprises (SMEs).
Speaking during the National Youth Forum, the Agency’s Director General, Bekele Mengistu, said by the end of the second Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP II) the government intended to create more than 8 million jobs.
Tarekegn Abdujemal, President for Ethiopian Youth Federation, on his part said the forum was aimed popularizing the opportunities the youth has.
The Forum had more than 800 participants that were from all the 9 states and 2 federal city administrations. IT was organized by the collaboration of the Agency, the Ethiopian Youth Federation and Small and Medium Manufacturing Development Agency.
