Zemen Bank, Ethiopia selects CR2’s BankWorld to drive their internet banking channel

CR2 are delighted to announce that Zemen Bank, the leading digital bank in Ethiopia, has selected CR2’s BankWorld to ensure the further delivery of innovative self-service banking to its customers via the internet banking channel.

Established in 2009, Zemen Bank has enjoyed strong growth as a result of priding itself on the provision of quality next generation services to serve the people of Ethiopia. In line with the Bank’s vision of being an innovator and striving for excellence - the agreement with CR2 covers both the provision and implementation of BankWorld Internet. The extension of services at Zemen Bank includes a generous selection of functionalities which will be available to both corporate and retail customers. Zemen Bank clients nationwide will be empowered via a range of secure and flexible services. Among the key decision criteria to select the BankWorld Internet solution included the flexibility and user friendliness of the solution enabled through the following features:
  • HTML 5 which enables convenient branding customisation
  • Responsive design rendering to any device
  • Segmentation capabilities to tailor screen design, menus and offers to specific groups of customers
  • Sample branding off the shelf to help banks test new features which can enable fast roll outs with reduced costs
Furthermore, being an existing customer – the bank has enjoyed first-hand experience of CR2’s implementation capabilities and proven track record. CR2 has always been an active thought partner, continuously presenting a host of revenue generating products and services across channels to the bank. Zemen Bank has responded positively to these suggestions, as demonstrated by their ambitious ATM growth from just 1 unit to approximately 50.
