The Ethiopian Canadians said that they are ready to strengthen their support and participation in their country.
Ethiopians living Winnipeg, Canada, through their communiqué statement sent to WIC, noted that they are ready to play a pivotal role in the realization of the Ethiopian renaissance. They urged the public and the government to work hand in hand to maintain good governance, public interest and exert more effort to sustain peace and stability in the country.
According to the statement, they also called up on the public to strive for peace and development other than being used as a tool for extremists’ and anti peace groups’ propaganda.
Similarly, the media should exercise and broadcast information which could address public interest as well, they noted.
They also said that remarkable developmental records achieved in the past 25 years should not be lagged by the chauvinists, narrowists, rent seekers and lack of good governance.
They added that they are optimistic and are ready to overcome these challenges and to confront them as a matter of survival and to realize Ethiopian renaissance and become one of the middle income countries by 2025.
The government is also trying to solve problems that arose in the process of transformation by applying deep reform and this is very appreciable.
They also denounced the terrorists and extremists like Oromo Liberation Front and Ginbot 7 who are working day and night to disrupt the peace in Ethiopia under the cover of grievances of the public to disintegrate the country as agents of the Eritrean Government.
