State of Tigray, one of the 9 states of Ethiopia, disclosed it is going to construct an Agro-processing industrial park. The park is expected to be constructed at an outlay of 2.3 billion Birr.
According to Tigray State’s Industrial Park Cooperation Executive, Anteneh Zewde, the park is going to be constructed at Ba’eher city, which is located in Western Tigray Zone.
Anteneh explained the construction would be undertaken on 1,000 hectares plot of land. The construction would start once Mahindra, an Indian firm, finishes the design of the park within a month, he added.
200 agro-processing industries were expected to be housed at the park, Anteneh noted.
According to the Executive, the entire cost is going to be covered by the State of Tigray. Out of the 2.3 billion Birr, 800 million Birr has already been allocated for the construction.
