Ministry Continues to Update Diplomats On Recent Violence


The government has been discussing with the public and the demand would be addressed step by step.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government would continue to work relentlessly to update members of the diplomatic community on the recent violence in some parts of the country.
Briefing journalists on current affairs yesterday, Ministry Spokesperson Tewolde Mulugeta said that the Ministry held discussions with Ethiopian-based diplomatic communities to enable them have a clear understanding of the situation.
The government told the diplomatic community that public demands are legitimate and need urgent response. But some elements are trying to hijack the public grievance for their own political motive which only leads to further causalities and destruction.
The government has informed the diplomatic community that it has been holding discussions with the public and the demands would be addressed step by step.
The Spokesperson said that the government would strengthen its ongoing efforts to let the diplomatic community know about new developments and incidents organizing similar discussions.
Meanwhile, Tewolde said that Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom has visited Singapore in a bid to bolster bilateral ties where he signed Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen relations.
