US Second Lady appreciates increasing female students enrollment in Ethiopian schools

(EBC, July 17, 2016)- US Second Lady Jill Biden gets fascinated by Ethiopia's achievement in increasing the number of female students' enrollment in schools.
Mrs Baiden  said Ethiopia is leading the way in East Africa to close education gender gap.
US Second Lady Jill Biden, wife of the 47th and  the current American Vice President, Joe Biden had a busy day in Addis on Sunday.  She handed over certificates to 37 girls who attended the "Girls Can Code" project supported by the US government. The project that aspires to improve girl's skills in internet and application has been under implementation since last October.
 She has appreciated the growing female students' enrollment in Ethiopia.
Mrs Biden ,who is still engaged in teaching English back in the US, said she has heard a lot of interesting things about Ethiopia from her students. The second lady went on explaining about ‘teach her' training and Ethiopia's recognition at regional level.
She will travel to Malawi and Niger in her next leg of tour.       
The second lady also spent time at the National Museum and Gothe Institute to visit the 3.5 Million years old Lucy's fossil and Ethio- American artist Julie Meheretu's art exhibition.
