Khartoum — The government and the political forces as well as opposition forces taking part in the National Dialogue process, have announced that a huge reception would be accorded to President of the Republic Omar Bashir upon his return from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he would honored by the African Dignity and Pride Initiative.
Assistant of the President Ibrahim Mahmoud has pointed out in press statements following a meeting of the political forces in Khartoum that the African Initiative to honor the President of the Republic, was in fact coming in response to the initiative of the President to lead the National Dialogue, his success in Darfur where peace and stability have been achieved, as well as his standing in dignity and his victory over the ICC.
Ibrahim said honoring the president was actually honoring the whole Sudanese nation and peoples, as Bashir stands as a symbol of dignity and resistance for injustice and tyranny, now prevailing in the world.
Abood Jabir, the Secretary General of the National Unity Political Parties' Council, has described the meeting held at the Republican Palace as historical and the popular reception to be accorded to the President of the Republic as reinforcement for the African initiative to honor the President of the Republic.
The Chair of the Darfur Regional Authority, Dr Tigani Sisi, said honoring the President in a ceremony in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is a regional and international event given the various challenges that faced the country and which the president, through his wise leadership was able to overcome and that this was to be seen against the background that the Sudan has also been a strong backer and support of African liberation movements.
He said the fact that the honoring was carried out be respected African education higher in situations shows the credibility of the event and the transparency with which the move was launched, saying this requires the Sudanese people to honor and to express its appreciation for the initiative
