The Ethiopian government has prepared a draft proclamation which it says is meant to help prevent cyber crimes in the country, APA learns here Wednesday.
A statement issued here Wednesday says the draft will be referred to the Standing Committee of the House of Peoples Representatives (National Parliament) after discussions are conducted with various civil society members.
The proclamation aims to prevent and control criminal acts from both home and abroad on institutions, infrastructures, computers and networks.
The proclamation also intends to protect banks, courts, transport and media companies as well as service delivery institutions from cyber attacks.
The statement adds that it will in particular help to protect confidential information of defense, security and financial institutions
