Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian national team “Walias” were beaten 1-0 by Zambia in a soccer friendly match played here today.
The lone goal of the match was scored by Allan Mukuka, who headed the ball in the net a minute before the end of the first half.
The Walias had a good chance to equalize and give newly appointed head coach Yohannes Sahle a descent start but Binyam Assefa missed a penalty.
The Walias were later reduced to ten men in the 85th minute after Mujib Kasim was sent-off for a second booking after receiving his initailly yellow card in the 27th minute.
Coach Sahle used the friendly match to gave a chance to the domestic players as none of the foreign-based players such as Getaneh Kebede and Salhadin Said were in the line-up.
