Moyale border re-opened after Ethiopia general polls

The Kenya–Ethiopia border at Moyale was opened on Monday, just a day after the latter held its General Election. The border was closed during the Sunday elections, and movement by people and vehicles was strictly barred.

 But yesterday, free movement along the border was resumed as business between the two countries returned to normal. Moyale Deputy County Commissioner John Cheruiyot said normal business had resumed and the border was open. He said the Sunday closure was to allow Ethiopians to participate in their elections. He assured Kenyans that there was 24-hour surveillance along the border.
