The first group of Chinese evacuees from Yemen arrived in Addis Ababa -- the capital of the east African nation of Ethiopia -- on Monday night and are due to fly out of there for China. The group of 104 arrived at Djibouti port over the weekend.
The Chinese embassies in Djibouti and Ethiopia have contacted Ethiopian Airlines, which has agreed to increase the number of flights between the two countries from four to seven per day.
Officials from the Chinese embassy in Ethiopia said the evacuation is their top priority, and are currently preparing for the arrival of more Chinese nationals from Yemen in the days to come.
