Conflicts Subside in some universities as teaching-learning still disrupted in others

The conflict that is sparked in five of the Ethiopian universities in opposition to the Addis Ababa city’s integrated master plan have caused the loss of many lives and damage to the properties.

As the conflict subsides in some of the universities, as sources told DireTube News the situation in the Dire Dawa and Haramaya University is still aggravated. Though classes has begun today at the Dire Dawa University, due to some students stone throwing onto the classrooms and the “let the detained students be freed” slogan, the classes has finally been interrupted.

As sources told DireTube news, the situation in the Haramay University is still with no sign of improvement. Sources said that conflict between students is getting worsened and there are reports of some students been beaten. The situation in the Medawelabu University is showing improvement and class has begun.

It is said that higher officials of the region and federal government have travelled to the university’s Robe campus to calm down the campus’ atmosphere. The conditions in the Adama and Ambo Universities are also improved where there is a relative tranquility in the campuses.
